It is thanks to a university professor in Budapest, Hungary that the Rubik’s cube came to be. Originally, it was created by Ern? Rubik to help explain 3-dimensional geometry, but in the end became the world’s best selling toy, with over 300,000,000 Rubik’s Cubes being sold worldwide to date. In a classic Rubik’s Cube, each of the six faces is covered by 9 stickers, among six solid colors. A pivot mechanism enables each face to turn independently, thus mixing up the colors. For the puzzle to be solved, each face must be a solid color. Today, everyone from high-powered business executives, to security guards watching closed circuit television, to students, enjoy this challenging and classic game.
