Surveillance Cameras and Privacy

When fourteen former Nashville Kats cheerleaders filed a $13 million civil damages lawsuit against the management company of Gaylord Entertainment Center for allegedly videotaping them in the dressing room without their knowledge, it was clear that the fine line between security and privacy was crossed. Though the lawsuit stated that employees with Powers Management routinely placed hidden video surveillance cameras throughout the arena as a security measure, it wasn’t used for its purpose. How much are we willing to give up for security? It’s like opening the window to see the outside — and forgetting that they can see us inside too.
