Their lower weight makes it possible for them to provide a better mileage. There are many models and brands in the market. The electric scooters are different from the gas scooters in three important ways. The source of energy is the battery instead of petroleum based fuels which are costly and also polluting. Speed is the second major difference. The electric scooter can move only at a lower speed. The battery needs to be recharged more often as they last for only a short distance. The mobility scooter is specifically designed for the elderly and the disabled. They are however just like gas scooters and electric scooters in other ways. Their speed ranges between 5 to 20mph. There are the motorized scooters that have smaller engines that range from 50cc and lesser. These are known as seated scooters, mopeds, segways or standup electric or gas scooters. Typically they offer 8 to 20 mph speed. They have to be refueled or recharged every 5 to 20 miles. These scooters are extremely popular amongst youth, particularly the teenagers. They are more fuel efficient than gas scooters.
The kick scooter is a recent addition to scooters. They do not have an engine or a motor. The kick scooter moves with a push and glide motion using the leg. Razor A Scooter is one such popular kick scooter. This is a substitute for walking.
